Stocks rise as oil drops

U.S. stocks rose on Tuesday as oil prices fell more than $1, boosting shares of companies sensitive to energy prices, such as discount retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc. and diversified manufacturer 3M Co. An index of business activity in the services sector that pointed to economic strength also lifted investor sentiment.
